Wooden pergolas · Dubai
Wooden Pergolas
A timber pergola sized for your garden or terrace, finished for outdoor conditions and built by our own team.
Shade and structure for outdoor space
Wooden pergolas give a garden or terrace a defined area for seating or dining, with filtered shade from the slats above. They can stand alone, attach to the house, or frame a seating area beside a pool.
Outdoor timber has to cope with strong sun, heat and humidity, so the timber choice and the finish matter more than they do indoors. We discuss both with you before we draw anything. For outdoor seating and tables to go under the pergola, see outdoor furniture.
Pergola types
Wooden pergolas are usually one of these three types.

Freestanding
Four or more posts in the garden, over a seating or dining area. It can be placed where the shade is needed most.

Attached to the house
Fixed to the wall of the house on one side, so it extends the living space outdoors.

Poolside or terrace
A lighter structure over a terrace or beside a pool, often combined with built-in seating.

Planning points
Approvals
Many communities and buildings require approval for external structures. We supply drawings and trade documents for the application, and work starts once approval is given.
Shade level
Slat spacing and direction decide how much shade you get at different times of day.
Fixings and footings
Posts are fixed to suit the surface, whether that is paving, soil or a roof terrace.
Lighting and fans
Cable routes for lighting can be planned into the design. We arrange a licensed electrician for any lighting or power.
Timber and finishes
The timber and its finish decide how the pergola weathers.
- Outdoor-suitable timber. Species chosen for durability outdoors. We discuss the options and their maintenance at the survey.
- Exterior finishes. Oils, stains or exterior coatings that protect against sun and moisture.
- Fixings. Exterior-grade fixings and post bases.
- Maintenance. Outdoor finishes need re-coating over time. We explain what your chosen finish needs.
From design to installation
- Send the space. Photographs of the garden or terrace and rough measurements.
