Carpentry in Al Mizhar
Carpentry in Al Mizhar means working in large family villas that were designed one at a time rather than from a developer plan. Al Mizhar 1 and 2 sit between Mirdif and Al Khawaneej, and almost every house has a formal majlis, a dining room for a crowd and a kitchen with a separate preparation area. So the joinery is generous, and it is built for a family that will stay.
We are a family business from Ras Al Khor, ten minutes down the road, and we have fitted majlis rooms, kitchens and wardrobes here since the 1990s.

Carpentry in Al Mizhar: both districts, every street
Al Mizhar is two districts of private plots, so no two villas share a plan. Because of that, we survey every room before drawing anything, and we have worked on most street layouts here.
If your street is not listed, then send the plot number and we will confirm the same day. We also cover Mirdif, Al Khawaneej and Al Warqa, and the full list is on areas we serve in Dubai.
What carpentry in Al Mizhar covers
Most of our work in Al Mizhar is one of six things, so here they are. Each one is drawn for the actual room, because a twelve-metre majlis wall and a developer bedroom need very different set-outs.

Panelled walls, seating and concealed storage for the men’s and family majlis, with the joints planned where the seating breaks. See also majlis design.

Double-run kitchens with a preparation area, a pantry and stone tops, together with the appliances you choose. See also custom kitchens.

Walk-in dressing rooms sized for abayas, kanduras and the family’s luggage, as well as children’s wardrobes. See also fitted wardrobes.

Tall, wide veneered doors made to the house’s own openings rather than a standard size. See also interior doors.

Tables that seat sixteen to twenty, in solid timber reinforced to stay flat in air conditioning. See also dining tables.

Handrails, cladding and storage for the original staircase, and also the space beneath it. See also staircases.
How a job runs, start to finish
Survey and brief
We walk the house with you, measure the rooms involved and discuss the finish level. Large houses need a sequence, so we agree it at this stage.
Design drawings
Soon afterwards, elevations, sections and a sample board arrive. For example, a dressing room gets a drawer-by-drawer plan before we price anything. External work follows the Dubai Building Code and the community guidelines.
Fixed quotation
We price by element, so the library and the majlis can proceed on different dates. Read our quote checklist before you sign.
Workshop build
After that, we match the veneers, spray the lacquers and fit the hardware in Ras Al Khor. Then we dry-assemble every piece before delivery.
Installation
Finally our team installs in stages, room by room, and returns for a final adjustment visit once the house has settled.
Materials and finishes for carpentry in Al Mizhar
Carpentry in Al Mizhar is a long-term purchase, whether it is a majlis wall or a twenty-seat table, so we specify for decades rather than seasons. Three options, however, cover most of the work we do here.
Walnut and oak veneer
- Best for
- Dressing rooms, libraries and especially media walls where the grain should read as one surface.
- Finish
- Book-matched across a run of doors, then sealed with a UV-stable lacquer.
- Watch for
- Sun through large glazing, so we keep the darker species away from the glass.
High-gloss and matt lacquer
- Best for
- Kitchens, wardrobes and above all handle-less fronts with push-to-open hardware.
- Finish
- Multiple coats sprayed in the workshop booth, then polished.
- Watch for
- Fingerprints on gloss, so we suggest matt or satin in family rooms.
Stone, brass and glass
- Best for
- Vanities, bar areas and display shelving, in other words where joinery meets other trades.
- Finish
- Stone tops, brass trims and glass shelves integrated with the timber, so one team answers for the whole piece.
- Watch for
- Weight and fixings, so we design the carcass for the stone before it is cut.
Fit-out detail
Finally, here are seven plates from recent work. Each one was drawn for a specific room, and that is the only reason any of them fit.

FAQs about carpentry in Al Mizhar
Do you design the majlis as well as build it?
Yes. We measure the room, propose the seating layout and the panel set-out, then show you veneer and fabric samples. See the majlis design page for examples.
Can you work in a villa that is being rebuilt?
Yes, and we prefer to join early. We work from the contractor’s drawings, agree wall positions and services, then install once the plaster and flooring are done.
Do I need a permit for internal joinery?
No. Internal work needs no permit. Extensions and external structures need Dubai Municipality approval under the Dubai Building Code, and we supply the trade documents.
How big a dining table can you make?
Up to four metres in one piece, or otherwise longer in two sections with a hidden joint. See the dining tables page for sizes and timbers.
How long does a majlis take?
Six to eight weeks from approved drawings for panelling, seating and storage together, because veneer matching takes time. Installation then takes three to five days.
Can you refinish old joinery instead?
Yes. Where the doors and panels are sound, we refinish them in the workshop for much less than replacement. Send a photograph and we will tell you which makes sense.
