Custom Made Beds in Dubai

We build our custom made beds to the measurements of your room, so the frame fits the wall instead of stopping short of it. Our carpenters have worked in wood in Dubai since 1985, and we make every bed in our own workshop in Ras Al Khor.

Custom made beds, built to measure

Because a standard bed rarely suits the room, we build to the measurements we take on site. That covers the frame, the headboard and any storage underneath.

  • Upholstered beds — a padded headboard in fabric or leather, made to the width of the wall
  • Platform beds — a low, clean frame, often with a floating bedside table built into it
  • Bunk beds — two tiers, a fixed guard rail and a leaning or built-in ladder
  • Loft beds — the bed raised, so a desk or a wardrobe sits underneath
  • Murphy beds — a wall bed that folds away and gives the floor back to the room
  • Bed frames — solid wood, veneer or a sprayed finish, from single to super king
  • Built-in beds — the frame fitted between two walls, with drawers below
  • Daybeds — seating by day and a spare bed at night, for a study or a majlis

If you already know the size you want, send the dimensions and we will quote. If you do not, we will come and measure. For the rest of the house, our custom furniture page covers the wider range.

Woods and finishes for custom made beds

We keep solid timber and board in the workshop, so you can hold a sample against your floor before anything is cut. These are the woods we hold most often.

  • Teak — hard and oily, so it shrugs off humidity; the traditional choice for a bed frame here
  • Meranti — stable and easy to work, which makes it a good base for a painted frame
  • White wood — a soft, pale timber that takes paint and lacquer well
  • Ash — a light, open grain with plenty of movement in it
  • Beech — dense and uniform, useful where a frame carries a lot of load
  • Walnut — dark and figured, usually as a veneer over a stable core
  • Engineered wood (MDF) — flat and stable, and the right base for a sprayed gloss finish

However, the material matters less than where the bed sits. Because a bedroom in Dubai runs humid in summer, we build solid timber frames with moisture-resistant board wherever the structure is hidden. For example, a drawer box under a bed sits close to the floor, so it swells first if the board is wrong.

Headboards add a second decision. Since an upholstered panel softens a room and a veneered one shows the grain, we usually bring both options to the measuring visit.

Custom made bunk beds and loft beds for small rooms

Bunks and lofts solve the same problem, because they stack two beds into the floor space of one. In a Dubai apartment, that is often the difference between one usable bedroom and two.

Custom made bunk beds in light wood, with a leaning ladder and a fixed guard rail

A bunk needs more thought than a single bed. First, the ladder has to land somewhere safe, so it cannot block the door. Second, the guard rail must fix to the frame rather than to the mattress. Third, the ceiling height decides how much headroom the top bunk really gets.

For a loft bed, we plan the space underneath at the same time as the bed. That way a desk, a wardrobe or a run of shelves becomes part of the same frame, rather than something you push in afterwards. You can see the matching pieces on our study tables and fitted wardrobes pages.

How we make a custom bed

  1. First, we visit and measure the room, including the ceiling height and any part of the wall that is out of square.
  2. Then you receive a drawing and a fixed price, so nothing is cut until you have approved both.
  3. After that, we build the bed in the workshop, and you are welcome to come and see it before it goes in.
  4. Finally, the same carpenters assemble it in your home and take the packaging away with them.

Most beds then take three to five weeks from an approved drawing. A plain frame is quicker, while an upholstered headboard adds time because the fabric has to be ordered in. The finish matters too, since a sprayed gloss needs longer to cure than an oiled surface.

We also repair and restore beds after water damage or a move. If the frame is still sound, we remake the affected parts instead of building the whole bed again.

Questions about custom made beds in Dubai

It depends on the size, the timber and the finish. Because we price each bed on its own rather than from a catalogue, you get a fixed figure after the measuring visit, and that number does not move once you have agreed it.

Solid timber, veneer and engineered board, plus fabric or leather for an upholstered headboard. We hold samples in the workshop, so you can compare a finish against your floor and your wardrobe doors before we order anything.

Yes. Bunks, lofts and Murphy beds all work in small rooms, and each one uses the space differently. Tell us the ceiling height and which way the door opens, and we will say which suits you best.

Usually three to five weeks from an approved drawing. A straightforward frame is quicker, while an upholstered piece takes a little longer because the fabric has to be ordered in.

Yes. Our own carpenters deliver and assemble the bed, and they take the packaging away with them. The team that builds the piece is the team that fits it, so there is one point of contact if anything needs adjusting.

Often, yes. Send a photograph taken in daylight and we will tell you what we can match. Timber varies between batches, so we compare samples before we cut.

Yes. We take on multiple units for a fit-out and we can work to a main contractor’s programme. Our commercial joinery page covers the wider scope.
