Small tables, made to fit
Custom side tables solve the small problems that standard furniture creates: a table that sits too low beside a high sofa, a bedside that is too wide for the gap, or a pair that does not match the bed.
Bedside tables are a good example. The gap between the bed and the wall, the height of the mattress, and whether you need a drawer for glasses and chargers all change the right size. In a guest room, a single drawer and a shelf may be enough; in a main bedroom, two drawers and space for a lamp and a book are often more useful.

Side table types

Sofa side tables
Set close to the height of the sofa arm, for lamps, books and drinks.
Bedside tables
With a drawer, a shelf or both, sized to the gap beside the bed.

Small tables that tuck together and come out when guests arrive.

Materials and finishes
Side tables are handled often, so the finish needs to cope with cups and cleaning.
