Custom Computer Tables in Dubai

We build custom computer tables in Dubai to the width of your wall, in our own workshop in Ras Al Khor. Since 1985 the family has made joinery here, and our own carpenters fit every piece we sell.

Custom computer tables we build to measure

Because a computer table has to hold more than a laptop, the design starts with the equipment rather than with the size. So we measure the wall, then work out where the screen, the keyboard and the tower will sit before we cut anything.

  • Built-in computer desks — fitted between two walls or into an alcove
  • Freestanding computer tables — if the desk may move room later
  • Corner computer desks — for a room that is short of straight wall
  • Two-person and shared desks — one top, two workstations
  • Desks with cable management — routes built into the frame, not stapled to it
  • Desks with storage — drawers, tower bays and shelves
  • Gaming and multi-monitor desks — deeper tops and a wider span
  • Commercial workstation runs — repeated desks for an office

If you already know the width you want, send it and we will quote. If you do not, we will come and measure. For the rooms around the desk, our custom furniture and fitted wardrobes pages cover the rest.

Cable routes and ventilation for custom computer tables

Most computer tables look tidy on the day they arrive and a mess a month later, because nobody planned where the cables would go. However, a desk that is designed around the equipment keeps its shape. So we cut a route through the frame for power and data, and we leave a gap behind the top for the plugs themselves.

A tower needs air, so it sits in a bay with an open back rather than in a closed cupboard. Because a monitor also throws heat, we keep the top above it clear where we can. Finally, we leave a route for the next change, since most people add a screen or a dock within a year.

You can see how we handle the same problem on our office furniture and commercial joinery pages.

Custom computer tables: height, depth and screen position

A desk height that suits one person gives another a shoulder ache, because the right height depends on the chair and on the length of the forearm. So we set the top around the chair you actually use, rather than around a standard figure. Then we check the depth, because a screen placed too close costs more comfort than any finish will recover.

We also leave a clear route for the keyboard and the mouse, which is why a computer table is usually deeper than a writing desk of the same width. Ergonomics is worth reading before you fix a height, and we will talk through the numbers at the measuring visit.

Custom computer tables with storage and shelving

Because a computer table collects more than a desk does, the storage matters as much as the top. So we plan the drawers around what is actually kept in them, and the shelves around the height of the boxes that will sit on them.

For a narrow room, a wall-hung desk keeps the floor clear and makes the room feel wider. In that case the frame fixes to the wall on a batten, so the top can run the full length without a leg in the way.

Custom computer tables for two people

Two people at one table need a different design from two tables, because the span decides how many supports the top needs to stay flat. So we work out the span first, and then set the supports so nobody sits behind a leg.

We also separate the power, so each side has its own socket route instead of one trailing lead across the middle. Finally, we agree which side is the wider one, because a shared desk rarely splits exactly in half.

If your work is more reading than screens, our study tables page covers the quieter version of the same idea.

How we make custom computer tables

  1. First, we visit and measure the wall, the floor and the power points, and we note anything that restricts the desk.
  2. Then we agree where the screen, the keyboard and the tower will sit, and you receive a drawing and a fixed price.
  3. After that, we build the desk in the workshop, and you are welcome to see it before it goes in.
  4. Finally, the same carpenters fit it and run the cable routes through the finished piece.

Most desks then take three to five weeks from an approved drawing. A plain top on two supports is quicker, while a fitted run with drawers and internal cable routes adds time. Because the finish decides much of the schedule, a sprayed gloss takes longer to cure than an oiled surface.

We also repair and restore desks after water damage or a move.

Questions about custom computer tables in Dubai

It depends on the width, the material and how much storage the desk carries. Because we price each table on its own rather than from a catalogue, you get a fixed figure after the measuring visit, and that number does not move once you have agreed it.

Most of them, yes. We cut a route through the frame, leave a void behind the top for the plugs, and put an access panel where the tower sits. However, a cable has to leave the desk somewhere, so we agree that point with you rather than hiding it and hoping.

Deeper than a writing desk, because the screen stands at the back and your forearms need the front. A single-screen desk usually wants about 70cm; a two-monitor setup wants more. We check the depth against your chair and your eyesight at the measuring visit.

Yes. Because a long top bows if it has too few supports, we work out the span first and then set the supports so nobody sits behind a leg. Each side also gets its own power route.

Fitting, materials and timing

For a painted desk, MDF under a sprayed finish gives the flattest surface. For a visible grain, veneer or solid timber works well. Because a computer desk is handled every day, we also specify an edge that will not chip.

Yes. We build repeated workstation runs and can work to a main contractor’s programme. Our commercial joinery page covers the wider scope.

Yes. Our own carpenters deliver and fit the desk, and they take the packaging away. Because the team that builds the piece is the team that installs it, there is one point of contact if anything needs adjusting.

Tell us about the computer table you need

Send a photograph of the wall and the width you have in mind, plus what will sit on the desk. Then we will tell you what fits, what it costs and how long it takes. You can also see finished joinery on our projects page.
