Carpentry in Mira
Carpentry in Mira means making a compact townhouse work harder. The Reem houses hand over with a kitchen, a few wardrobes and very little else besides. So we design the storage that is missing, build it in our Ras Al Khor workshop and fit it ourselves.
Because one team measures, makes and installs, one company answers for the finished result. Most jobs take three to four weeks from survey to installation, so you are rarely waiting long.
Fig. 01Fitted wardrobe interior, Ras Al Khor workshopWhy carpentry in Mira is its own job
Mira sits inside Reem, off Al Qudra Road, and it was built as a mid-size family community. The townhouses come in Type 1E, 2E and 3E layouts, with three or four bedrooms on tight plots. Because the rooms are compact, every centimetre of wall has to earn its place. A catalogue wardrobe that is 50 mm too wide simply will not go in.
Two things shape our work here. First, the houses share party walls and narrow staircases, so we build large pieces in sections that we can carry upstairs. Second, Emaar Community Management runs Mira. Internal joinery does not need their approval; however, anything that touches the façade or the garden boundary does, and we supply the trade documents for that application.
Many Mira owners bought to live in rather than to let, so they ask for pieces that will last. For example, a pantry that uses the dead corner by the kitchen door, or a study nook on the landing. We draw each one around the house you have, not a standard plan.

From survey to installation
We have handled carpentry in Mira 1 to 5 since the first handovers, so we know the layouts. Send your house type and a photograph, and we can usually quote a wardrobe before the visit.
Survey
Before anything else, we visit the house, measure every wall that matters and photograph the space. Send the villa type beforehand, because it tells us a lot before we arrive.
Drawings
Following that, you receive the layout, the materials and the finish samples. Nothing goes to the workshop until you approve it.
Fixed quotation
We price it line by line, so you can remove an item without re-pricing the rest. Then compare it using our guide to comparing joinery quotes.
Manufacture
Then we cut, assemble and finish every piece at our Ras Al Khor workshop. Your home stays clean while the dusty work happens elsewhere.
Installation
Finally, our own fitters, usually one to three days on site. We scribe to the walls and adjust every door before we leave.
Materials and finishes for carpentry in Mira
Specifying the material matters more than the brand. For a Mira townhouse we usually combine three.
Veneer
The closest you get to solid timber, at a much lower price than the real thing. Oak, walnut and ash are the usual choices, and we also match the grain across doors.
Sprayed lacquer
Gives the flat, seamless face that most modern kitchens and wardrobes need, especially in handle-less designs. Any colour, matt or satin, and it also repaints later.
Solid timber
For tables, stair treads and anything that takes daily knocks, so strength comes first. We use kiln-dried hardwood so it stays stable in air conditioning.
Because the climate is dry indoors and humid outside, we seal every edge and use hardware rated for daily use. Our guide to cabinet materials explains the choices in more detail.
Where we work in Mira and Reem
We work throughout Mira 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, and across the rest of Reem. Mira Oasis has its own page because the house types differ.

FAQs about carpentry in Mira
Do I need Emaar approval for fitted wardrobes in Mira?
No. Internal joinery that does not touch the structure needs no community approval. Garden pergolas, external doors and anything visible from the street do, and we supply the drawings and documents for that. We wrote our Emaar NOC guide for Arabian Ranches, but the process in Reem is the same.
How wide are the bedroom walls in a Mira Type 2E?
It varies by plot, which is why we measure rather than guess. As a guide, the master bedroom wardrobe wall is usually between 2.4 m and 3.1 m. We build to the exact figure, so the unit meets both walls without filler strips.
Can you get large pieces up the staircase?
Yes. We design every wardrobe and TV wall in sections that fit the stair and the landing. Then we assemble them in the room, so the finished piece looks like one unit.
What does a fitted wardrobe in Mira cost?
It depends on width, interior layout and finish, as well as the hardware. Our fitted wardrobe cost guide gives current ranges per running metre, and the survey turns that into a fixed figure.
Can we stay in the house during the work?
Almost always. The cutting and spraying happen in our workshop, so on-site work is assembly and fixing. A wardrobe takes a day; a kitchen refit takes two to three.
Do you also do painting and small repairs?
Yes. We repaint existing kitchens and wardrobes, repair doors and adjust hinges. Send a photograph and we will tell you honestly whether to repair or replace.
