The right size for the room
Catalogue coffee tables rarely fit the sofa and the walkway at the same time. Custom coffee tables are sized from the room: the length of the sofa, the space you need to walk around, and the height of the seat.
Think about how the table is used as well as how it looks. A family that eats in front of the television needs a different height and surface from a couple who mostly use it for a lamp and a few books. Homes with young children often prefer rounded corners and a tough finish, while a formal living room can take a more delicate veneer or a stone top.

Coffee table styles
Custom coffee tables usually start from one of these shapes.
Low rectangular tables
The most practical shape in front of a long sofa, with room for a lower shelf.
Round and oval tables
Softer shapes that are easier to walk around, often used with corner or curved sofas.
Storage tables
Drawers or a lift-up top for remotes, books and games, so the surface stays clear.

Sizing tips
Height
Usually close to the height of the sofa seat, so cups are easy to reach.
Length
Usually shorter than the sofa, leaving space at each end.
Clearance
Enough space between the sofa and the table to sit and walk past comfortably.
Corners
Rounded corners are safer in homes with small children.
Materials and finishes
A coffee table takes hot cups, feet and spills, so the finish matters.
- Solid timber. Oak, walnut and other species, with an oil or lacquer finish.
- Wood veneer. A wide timber look on a stable board, good for larger tops.
- Painted or lacquered MDF. Clean colour finishes for modern rooms.
- Stone or glass tops. Tell us if you want a stone or glass top and we will discuss the options.
How it is made
- Send the room. A photograph of the sofa and the space, with rough measurements.
- Design. We agree the shape, size and finish, with a drawing if needed.
- Fixed price. You receive a written, fixed price.
- Make. The table is made in our Ras Al Khor workshop.
- Deliver. We deliver and place the table.
