Custom TV Racks in Dubai
Not every room wants a fitted media wall. A custom TV rack holds the screen, the soundbar and the boxes in one piece of joinery. It stands on its own, so the wall behind it stays yours and the piece can move with you.
We have made fitted and free-standing furniture in Dubai since 1985. Our own carpenters build every custom TV rack in our workshop in Ras Al Khor. The same team fits it.
If you want us to recess the screen into cabinetry, choose a custom TV unit instead. It is a different job from a rack.
What a custom TV rack gives you that a shelf does not
We build a custom TV rack around one screen. We cut the opening to that television, never to a nominal size. That matters more than it sounds. A screen at the wrong height is uncomfortable every evening. A shelf a few centimetres too wide leaves a gap you notice for years.
Because the piece stands alone, it also has to look right from the side. So we finish the ends properly. We also carry the same timber around the back edge, where you see it from the sofa.
- Wall-mounted racks keep the floor clear. They read lighter in a small room, and they are easier to clean under.
- Low racks on a plinth suit a bedroom or a majlis. There the seating is lower, so the screen should sit lower too.
- Racks with drawers or doors put the receiver, the console and the remotes out of sight.
- Open racks leave the equipment on show, which is what some rooms are for.
The woods we build custom TV racks from
We make each rack from solid timber, engineered board, or a combination of the two. The species you choose changes the colour, the weight, and how the piece ages.
- Teak carries natural oils. It tolerates a humid room better than the rest of the group.
- Meranti is a stable hardwood, and it takes a stain evenly.
- Ash has a pale, open grain and a strong figure.
- Beech has a dense, fine grain, which suits the parts a hand touches.
- Walnut gives a dark, calm surface, and it suits a media piece.
- Engineered wood (MDF) takes a painted or high-gloss finish, where a solid grain would show through.
We can also match a new custom TV rack to joinery you already own. That helps when it will sit in the same room as fitted wardrobes.
Custom TV rack or fitted TV unit?
People often use the two words as if they mean the same thing. They do not. A custom TV rack stands on the floor, and you can move it. A fitted unit runs the full width of the wall. We build the cable routes into the structure. Then it becomes part of the room, not a piece in it.
A custom TV rack suits a room that may change. It also suits a wall worth keeping, or a home you are renting. Choose a fitted TV unit when the joinery should span the full wall and carry storage with it. If you are unsure, a photograph of the wall is usually enough for us to say which suits it.
What a custom TV rack costs
The price follows the width of the run, the number of separate cabinets, the timber and the finish. A single wall-mounted custom TV rack in a standard hardwood comes in below a full media wall. We use less material and spend less time fitting it.

Questions we get about a custom TV rack
How long does a custom TV rack take to build?
Most run to four to six weeks. We count that from the final drawing, not from the first enquiry.
Can you build to a specific television?
Yes. Give us the model, or its width, height and stand depth, and we cut the opening to that. Say so if you expect to replace the screen later. Then we will cut the opening to take a larger set.
Can the cables be hidden?
Yes. A rack has less room inside than a fitted unit. So we plan the route before we build the piece, and we leave a void for the plugs. Settle the cable route before you commit to a layout.
Do you work outside Dubai?
We work across Dubai. Ask about the other emirates when you send the measurements. We will tell you honestly whether it is practical.
