Use the space under the bed
Storage beds turn the space under the mattress into drawers or a lift-up compartment. In smaller bedrooms, that can replace a chest of drawers and free floor space.
Before choosing a design, list what the bed will store. Spare bedding and pillows suit wide, shallow drawers. Suitcases and seasonal clothes fit better under a lift-up base. Children’s toys need drawers they can open themselves. The answer shapes the whole design, including the bed height and whether the headboard needs storage as well.

Drawer beds
Drawers along one or both sides, or at the foot, for clothes and bedding.
Lift-up base
The mattress platform lifts to reveal the full area underneath, good for luggage and seasonal items.
Headboard storage
A headboard with shelves, niches or cupboards, often combined with bedside units.

Clearance
Drawers need space beside the bed to open fully. We check this against the room.
Mattress size
The frame is built to your mattress size, so tell us the exact dimensions.
Bed height
Storage beds are often a little higher. We agree the height that suits you.
Ventilation
The mattress platform is designed to let the mattress breathe.
Materials and finishes
Bedroom furniture should be quiet, sturdy and easy to clean.
- Wood veneer. Oak, walnut and other timber looks.
- Painted or lacquered MDF. Colours that match the wardrobe or walls.
- Laminate. Hard-wearing for children’s and guest rooms.
- Upholstered headboards. Ask us about fabric headboards. See also upholstery.
- Hardware. Soft-close drawer runners or gas-assisted lift mechanisms.

- Fixed price. You receive a written, fixed price.
- Make. The bed is made in our workshop.
- Deliver and assemble. We deliver and assemble the bed in the room.
