Before we draw any shelves, we list what the room needs to hold. For example, suitcases need deep, tall space, while cleaning supplies need shallow shelves at hand height. Once we know the mix, the layout almost designs itself.

We usually divide a storage room into zones:

daily items near the door and at waist height
seasonal items, such as decorations, on higher shelves
long-term boxes at the top or the back
bulky items, including luggage and vacuum cleaners, on the floor
a clear strip of floor, so the room stays usable

We price each storage room renovation from its measurements. These factors matter most:

Open shelving costs less than full cabinets, but cabinets keep the room tidier. Many clients therefore mix the two, with doors at eye level and open shelves above and below.
