Living Room Renovation in Dubai
A living room renovation has to suit everyone: the family watching films, guests visiting and children playing on the floor. In practice, most of that comes down to three things: where people sit, where the screen goes and where everything else is stored. So we plan those first, then build the media wall and storage in our workshop.

- Media wall Screen, speakers and storage in one unit.
- Storage Closed cupboards for the everyday clutter.
- Walls Panelling, slats or a feature finish.
- Lighting Layers for films, reading and guests.
Living
Layout
Plan a living room renovation around the seating
Seating decides how a living room works. For example, a large L-shaped sofa needs a different screen position than two sofas facing each other. So we start with the furniture plan, then place the media wall and storage around it.
We also look at:
- where windows cause glare on the screen
- the route through the room to other spaces
- where children play and where toys are stored
- whether the room also hosts guests
- the ceiling, lighting and sockets
If you host often in a separate room, our majlis design page covers that space.
Scope
What a living room renovation can include
Media wall
A custom TV unit combines shelves and cupboards, while hiding the cables.
Storage
Closed cupboards hide games, chargers and paperwork, so the room looks calm.
Wall panelling
Timber panelling or slats add texture. See wall panelling for finishes.
Display shelving
Open shelves show books and objects. In addition, floating shelves keep the wall light.
Lighting
Ceiling lights, wall lights and LED strips give different moods, especially in the evening.
Ceiling and paint
Even a new ceiling, cove or paint colour can change the whole room. Therefore, we plan them with the joinery.
From our workshop
Media walls built to the room
A media wall is the centrepiece of most living rooms. Because we build it ourselves, it fits the wall exactly, including around windows, columns and AC units. We also plan the cables and sockets before building, so nothing shows.
Finishes matter too. For instance, a white painted unit keeps a small room bright, while walnut or oak adds warmth to a larger one.

Process
How a living room renovation runs
- Visit Initially, we measure the room and talk about how your family uses it.
- Layout Then we plan seating, the media wall and storage together.
- Samples After that, you choose timber, finishes and lighting.
- Workshop Meanwhile, we build the joinery in Ras Al Khor.
- Site work Before installation, the trades complete the electrics, ceiling and paint.
- Installation Finally, our team fits the joinery and tidies every cable.
Building work in Dubai follows the Dubai Building Code, alongside any rules your building or community sets.
Budget
What affects the cost of a living room renovation
We price every living room renovation from the room and the joinery design, because no two are alike. These factors matter most:
- the size of the media wall
- the amount of closed storage
- wall panelling area and finish
- lighting, ceiling and paint work
- timber, veneer or painted finishes
Overall, a media wall usually gives the biggest change for the budget. So many clients start there, and add panelling or shelving later.
Before we visit, send photos of the room, its rough size and the furniture you plan to keep.
Questions
Living room renovation FAQs
Can you hide TV cables in the wall?
Yes, if we plan the routes before building. Our electrical team then adds the sockets inside the joinery.
Can a living room work for films and guests?
Yes. If you add dimmable lighting and closed storage, the room changes mood easily.
Can you match the living room to my kitchen?
Yes. Especially in open-plan homes, we often use the same finishes in both rooms.
Do you supply sofas?
We make custom sofas as a separate service.
